Information Systems / IT Support Technician

Tetra Tech International Development Services headquartered in Arlington, VA is accepting applications from qualified candidates for an Information Systems Technician. The Information Systems Technician (IST) is in the Technology and Information Management Services (TIMS) Group and reports to the Director of TIMS. This technician is responsible for in-person and remote end-user support, troubleshooting, and systems monitoring.

 

This position will be based in the Tetra Tech IDS Arlington office.

 

Responsibilities

* Provide daily user support to Home Office and overseas staff and IT-equipment management, including connectivity, groups and passwords, installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, configuring systems and applications, setting up laptops for new users, providing copier/printer and audio-visual support.

* Serve as primary contact for internal customers to the TIMS team, handling requests as appropriate and passing off others as required.

* Provide thorough technical troubleshooting.

* Ensure proper help desk ticket management and resolution using accepted standards and procedures.

* Collaborate across departments to develop and fulfill training requirements for home office and field staff.

* Train and orient colleagues/staff in current and new technologies to prepare them for applications that meet program objectives.

 

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field preferred, or an Associate’s Degree and additional work experience

* Minimum of 3-5 years of related technical or help desk experience;

* Willing and able to travel

* Knowledge of basic computer hardware, desktop and server operating systems; advanced knowledge of SharePoint and Office 365 features is preferred

* Experience and ease in translating complicated technical items to a non-technical audience

* Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail

* U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
