Tetra Tech International Development Services, headquartered in Arlington, VA, has an immediate opening for a Finance Specialist for the Clean Cities Blue Ocean (CCBO) project. This position will be based in the Washington, D.C. area.
The CCBO activity is a five-year, $48 million initiative of USAID which will serve as USAID's flagship program to target ocean plastics directly at their source in cities and towns. The project works to prevent ocean plastic pollution by building capacity and commitment for Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling (3Rs) and solid waste management (SWM) in urban and peri-urban settings, particularly in riverine and coastal areas. CCBO works with multiple USAID missions on country-specific implementation of national and local activities, and with USAID/Washington on global-level activities.
The role of the CCBO Finance Specialist will be to support the Admin and Finance Manager, Deputy Chief of Party, Chief of Party and other project staff to implement CCBO activities and support the management of multiple deliverables. They will work with the Admin and Finance Manager to oversee financial management of the project, including ensuring overall due diligence and appropriate internal controls in all fiscal management operations and providing financial control and oversight of regional and provincial offices in coordination and collaboration with the Admin and Finance Manager.
Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
* Advanced degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or relevant field is required;
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in budgeting and finance (preferably for USAID-funded projects);
* Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles;
* Proven experience with filing systems, records management, and administration support;
* Experience developing, managing, oversight, and reporting on multi-million dollar budgets;
* Must be comfortable in a fast paced and sometimes intense work environment;
* Must be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team player;
* U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
