Human Resources Generalist
Tetra Tech IDS is accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates to join our team as a Human Resources Generalist. The HR Generalist will provide overall benefits administration, coordinate annual performance and compensation reviews, payroll support administration, provide policy review and interpretation to employees, coordinate and administer end of employment processing, and work with DBA workers compensation insurance and compensation.
The HR Generalist will report to the Sr. Director of Human Resources and will be based in Burlington, VT.
Responsibilities:
* Review all group benefits plans annually, and make recommendations on any benefits changes to management.
* Review and distribute all benefit communications materials to new and current staff and identify and work with Corporate to correct benefit errors and issues.
* Coordinate the Annual Enrollment Process in partnership with Corporate and unit HR Team and review and make changes on employee’s benefits.
* Tailor and update all annual open enrollment communications and benefits summaries for Full-Time, Part-Time and Temporary employees for home office, satellite offices and for overseas staff.
* Arrange 401(k) Retirement Plan educational group and individual meetings.
* Monitor and approve health insurance payments for employees who have been granted special alternative plan exceptions and are reimbursed for their retiree or other health insurance.
* Review all Oracle alerts (all changes, ETRs, new hires, terms, self-service changes, etc.).
* Secure individual riders as needed for BTA coverage for war risk countries.
* Provide compensation and performance review coordination.
* Process all salary and position changes in Oracle.
* Research and complete Employment Verifications for current employees, former employees and CCNs.
* Review biweekly and monthly payrolls to check for all changes, errors, omissions, etc.
* Process employee changes (Direct Deposit, Wire Authorizations, Tax Withholding Forms, benefits deductions, wage garnishments) with Corporate payroll.
* Provide personnel policy review and interpretation to employees.
* Review and make recommendations to management for updates to the personnel manual.
* Prepare all end of employment documents for exiting employees and review documents/procedures with departing staff (letter, contract release, benefit conversion documents).
* Prepare and distribute mandatory COBRA Documents in a timely manner compliant with regulations.
* Audit Ethics Training results and provide employee follow up toward ensuring timely completion and compliance.
* Address employee inquiries regarding benefits, 401(k) Retirement Plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, compensation, personnel policies and any other HR related issues.
* Assist Accounting and other Departments with audit requests.
* Address Corporate Help Desk issues related to HR for employees.
Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
* BA/BS in Human Resources, or related degree, with background in business-related field;
* Minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience; PHR or SPHR certification is a plus;
* Work experience in an international organization preferred;
* Very strong organizational and skills and high attention to detail;
* Knowledge of Oracle, or other on-line HR management system and Microsoft Office;
* Strong interpersonal communication skills;
* High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion and integrity;
* Must be comfortable working in a fast paced and sometimes intense work environment;
* Must possess proactive, positive problem solving skills and be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team player;
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral;
* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, cross cultural teams;
* Energetic and enthusiastic team player, strongly motivated and collaborative;
* U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
