Agriculture and Economic Growth Senior Associate (Remote, US-based)

Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Senior Associate in the Agriculture and Economic Growth (AEG) Sector.  

The Senior Associate will lead proposal development and contribute to strategic growth initiatives, with an emphasis on Feed the Future opportunities and programming. They will be responsible for strategic capture, proposal development, and strategic engagement for a robust portfolio of USAID and other donor-funded initiatives relating to market systems development, private sector engagement, access to finance/climate finance, and the design and implementation of strategies to improve food security, address poverty and stimulate job creation. The Senior Associate will also support a portfolio of international development programming. The Senior Associate reports to the AEG Sector Director. Fully US-based remote positions may be considered.

Responsibilities:
* Lead select marketing activities and new business development, including conducting scoping trips, identifying new partners and/or clients, and innovative approaches to development challenges;
* Contribute to strategies for sustainable agriculture development, market systems strengthening, and economic growth that integrate food security, nutrition and income generation; 
* Assist in all aspects of proposal preparation, including but not limited to: technical approach, staffing and recruitment, partner liaising, and budget development; 
* Act as Lead Technical writer or Proposal Manager, according to the needs of specific bids; 
* Provide short term technical assistance in support of project implementation and ongoing business development efforts;
*Act as Project Manager for USAID-funded initiatives, assuring contract compliance from start up to close out, as well as client communications; and
* Provide overall strategic support to sector new business planning, project design and implementation, and thought leadership.

Qualifications:
* Master’s or PhD in agriculture, economic development, business management, or related field;
* Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a professional services firm or similar organization required;
* Demonstrated effectiveness and prior experience as a Lead Technical Writer on winning USAID proposal efforts required;
* Demonstrated thought-leadership and contributions in agriculture and economic growth required;
* At least 10 years of experience in international development with various donors, including USAID; especially Feed the Future, and market systems strengthening preferred;
* Experience working for, or collaborating with, partners in private sector, academia, research institutions, and government ministries and agencies;
* Experience managing and supervising large, complex agricultural and/or economic growth projects in developing countries preferred;
* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural teams - in the Home Office and the field - with strong written, oral, and presentation skills;
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure on multiple concurrent projects;
* Demonstrated detail orientation and exceptionally high levels of organization;
* Highly proficient in MS Office applications;
* Speaking and reading proficiency in at least one foreign language; proficiency in Spanish, French or Russian a plus;
* Energetic and enthusiastic team player, strongly motivated and collaborative;
* Availability for up to 20-30% international travel to developing, transitioning, and post-conflict countries; and
* US work authorization required.
