Biodiversity Conservation Specialist, Tanzania Natural Resource Management activity (NRM)

Tetra Tech International Development Services, headquartered in Arlington, VA  is seeking to hire a qualified Biodiversity Conservation Specialist , to provide technical and managerial oversight to the project activities related to biodiversity conservation and protection of wildlife and critical ecosystems in Tanzania, for an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded biodiversity conservation initiative. The purpose of the activity is to support and strengthen capacity in Tanzania for biodiversity conservation in a manner that i) increases private sector engagement in conservation and NRM; ii) builds the capacity of public sector and civil society; iii) improves the enabling environment; and iv) enhances knowledge management across sectors.   Activity interventions together will reduce threats to biodiversity in Tanzania while moving Tanzanian institutions further on their journey to self-reliance.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

*7+ years’ experience working in biodiversity conservation including working with stakeholders to establish, manage and monitor protected areas and biological corridors.

*Master’s degree or equivalent, in a relevant discipline.

*Excellent communication skills in English.
