Tetra Tech International Development Services, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is seeking a Communications Manager for its international development services (IDS) division communications department. The position is full time and will be based in our Burlington, Vermont office.
What you will be responsible for in this role:
* Leading communications initiatives related to strategic content development for Tetra Tech’s international development team in Burlington, VT and Arlington, VA
* Supporting project-level communications activities for the company’s USAID-funded programs around the world in the areas of agriculture and food security, environment, governance, land rights, and water
* Develop collaborative working relationships with the company’s business development team and support positioning and proposal efforts
* Work with the senior management team to craft messaging and rollout of key company initiatives, company updates, and organizational changes to employees
* Contribute content to division- and Corporate-level communications products like the annual calendar and annual report
* Promote and support the company’s engagement in events and speaking opportunities in Washington, DC and overseas
* Build capacity of USAID project communications officers around the world through regular trainings and occasional field trips
What we are looking for in you:
* Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
* Five years’ experience in international development or related field, communications, and/or marketing
* Significant professional work experience with USAID and/or international development contractors
* Fluency in English required
* Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or have eligibility to work in the United States
* Demonstrated experience creating, copy-editing, and proofreading marketing materials in English
* Ability to write story-driven content about complex technical subjects and projects that engages target audiences and promote knowledge sharing
* Demonstrated experience in working in an international context
* Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, senior technical experts, and staff around the world
* Interest, willingness, and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time
* Working knowledge of digital media outlets (e.g., Exposure, Medium, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube), Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
