Senior Technical Specialists, Agriculture and Market Systems (RAMS) Activity

Tetra Tech International Development Services headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for potential Senior Technical Specialist positions on a USAID-funded program in East Africa. Positions to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

 

The purpose of Regional Agriculture and Market Systems Activity is to promote increased agricultural production, trade, improved policies, finance and investment, and resilience to shocks and stresses in the East Africa region.

 

Working in collaboration with other technical staff and consultants, Senior Technical Specialists will be responsible for providing leadership to specific program activities, the timely provision and delivery of quality technical deliverables, and technical expertise to support project implementation.

 

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business management, economics, international development, law, public policy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred;

* At least ten (10) years of experience providing technical expertise in at least one of the following disciplines: agricultural value chain development (crop and/or livestock); market analysis and systems strengthening; regional trade integration, including standards certification and harmonization; food security; rural livelihoods and resilience; risk management and emergency response; organizational capacity building; policy analysis and advocacy; monitoring and evaluation; knowledge management and learning; and gender and social inclusion;

* Relevant experience in East African countries required; experience with relevant USAID projects preferred;

* Strong management experience (5+ years of supervisory experience) preferred;

* Excellent communication and intercultural skills required;

* Fluency in English required.
