Water Resources and Infrastructure Staff Associate

Tetra Tech International Development Services, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is seeking expressions of interest from qualified candidates to join our Water Resources and Infrastructure (WRI) Sector team as a Staff Associate.

The WRI Sector assists governments, civil society organizations, and communities in developing countries to improve policies and practices essential to the provision of effective water resources management, water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and municipal infrastructure services programming. We are looking for an individual who has relevant international experience in the WRI sector and with USAID project administration and oversight.

 

The position can be based in Burlington, Vermont, or Arlington, Virginia.

What you’ll do:
* Backstop all aspects of WRI project(s), including but not limited to: start up through close out, procurement, budgets, travel, recruiting and onboarding technical consultants/personnel, collaborating with local staff to build capacity; subcontractor management, and monitoring delivery against work plan to ensure contract compliance;

* Serve as Deputy Project Manager for the USAID WASH-FIN (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Finance) global project, focused on expanding access to finance for water and sanitation infrastructure
* Contribute to marketing activities and new business development, including conducting scoping trips, identifying new partners and/or clients, and innovative approaches to development challenges;
* Assist in all aspects of proposal preparation
* Provide technical assistance either for short-term international assignments or in a home office advisory capacity


What we are looking for:
* Master’s Degree in a sector-relevant technical discipline preferred
* Experience in project management and implementation of USAID programs

* 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in the WASH sector, preferably with overseas experience in developing countries
* High levels of professionalism and collegiality across cultures, hierarchies, and roles;
* Demonstrated attention to detail

* Ability to communicate high volumes of information into key messages and to various audiences;
* Strong proficiency in French, Spanish, Portuguese and/or Arabic is highly preferred;
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure on concurrent projects with poise;
* U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
