Renewable Energy and Rural Development Advisors

Tetra Tech International Development Services headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently recruiting for the following mid and senior-level energy sector positions (full and part-time)  in support of the four-year U.K. Indonesia Renewable Energy Programme.


In Indonesia, Tetra Tech is implementing projects in clean energy, sustainable land use, marine biodiversity, governance, education, and monitoring, evaluation and learning. Tetra Tech has four offices across Indonesia employing over 200 employees. Our work in the energy sector includes serving as the implementing contractor for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Indonesia Clean Energy Development I and II (ICED II) projects.  For more information on ICED II, visit our website at


  • Programme Manager and Project Manager– must be fluent in English and have experience managing large, complex assignments on renewable energy, economic and social development.
  • Renewable Energy Transaction Advisor – must have experience in advising renewable energy project developers, banks and other financial institutions, and the national Indonesian utility (PLN) in the feasible development, financing and integration of renewable energy power projects.
  • Energy Sector Policy Advisor –must have experience advising the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and key stakeholders on the design of renewable energy and electricity access policies based on international best practices.
  • Off Grid and Rural Electrification Advisor – must have experience in developing off-grid or micro-grid electricity projects for rural communities including addressing project technical and economic feasibility, customer willingness and ability to pay for electricity, financing and cost recovery, and legal and institutional arrangements
  • Rural Economic Development and Livelihoods Advisor – must have experience in conducting socio-economic assessments, identifying value-added economic activities, developing business plans, coaching entrepreneurs in agriculture, fishing, and other sectors and calculating economic multiplier effect of investments.
  • International Partnership Advisor – must have experience in identifying and creating partnerships between Indonesian and foreign governments, businesses and institutions principally related to renewable energy.

Mid-level (5+ years of experience) and senior-level (10+ years of experience) professionals are encouraged to apply.

All applicants must have work authorization for Indonesia or be citizens of Indonesia.

Qualified individuals will be contacted for inclusion in Tetra Tech's proposal and, if our team is successful, will be hired to work on the programme.
