Project Officer

Tetra Tech International Development Services is accepting applications from qualified candidates for a Project Officer.

The Project Officer serves in a supporting role to Project Manager or Senior Project Manager and may serve as lead on low risk/low dollar projects. This position reports to the Regional/Technical Director and is based in San Francisco, California

 

Responsibilities:

Regional Business Development  

* Assists in assigned region to identify future business opportunities and client targets for project activity.

* Assists the business development team to develop and carry out capture plans.

* Identifies institutional and individual resources in assigned regions for incorporation into proposals and eventual project implementation.

* Participates in various roles on proposal teams as assigned.

 

Project Support and Monitoring

In coordination with assigned Program Development and Implementation team and others in the Tt DPK Home Office, provides backstopping support to projects as follows.

* Ensures compliance with assigned contracts, annual work plan, and monitoring and evaluation plan. Track and review project deliverables prior to client submission.

* Serves as main point of contact for project office for day-to-day activities including procurement, compliance, budgets, organizing team tours, contracting short-term consultants and deploying to field, project-related travel, and coordination of logistics.

* Monitors project budget and expenditures to ensure adherence to adopted budget and burn rates.

* Participates in the annual planning processes for the project.

* Carries out quarterly calls with client and implement needed corrective actions identified.

* Travels to project offices approximately 20-30 percent of time, as needed.

* Maintains project files in accordance with Tt DPK filing policy and for maintaining project description and contacts list in central database.

* Arranges travel, moving, and shipping for consultants and long-term field office staff.

* Prepares contract packages and review invoices and travel expense reports of short-term consultants for submission to Finance.

* Edits and formats project reports and other documents including general copy editing, editing for content, and ensuring compliance with Tetra Tech Style Manual.

 

Departmental/Companywide Support

* Provides support and coordination for general departmental needs, including s database (ARDis) updates.

Provides input to the Regional/Technical Directors on the following functions on a rotating basis: 

* Small Business Reporting

* Facilitation of weekly Program Development and Implementation Department meetings

* Reporting of “Hot Potatoes”

* Program Development and Implementation Indicators

 

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, law, business administration, international relations, or related fields preferred and one to three years of experience (may be in an unrelated field).

* Demonstrated capacity to complete project support, monitoring and administrative tasks timely.

* Able to prioritize multiple assignments.

* Ability to think critically and solve problems independently.

* Relevant foreign language skills preferred, e.g., Spanish, French, and Arabic
