Value Chain Coordinator - Transforming Market Systems in Honduras

Tetra Tech ARD is seeking a qualified Value Chain Coordinator to provide technical leadership to the anticipated USAID-funded Activity called Transforming Market Systems. This activity in Honduras is designed to foster competitive, resilient, and inclusive market systems that provide increased economic opportunities that incorporate poor, marginalized Hondurans and reduce incentives to migrate.

Roles and Responsibilities :

The Value Chain Senior Specialist (VC Coordinator) is responsible for coordinating analysis of and interventions to the priority value chains selected within this award.to receive technical assistance. Priority value chains will be strengthened by partner organizations that will provide business development services to firms and others sectors in target value chains. The VC Coordinator, amongst other responsibilities defined by the contractor, will:

• Participate in the development of the annual work plans and other technical and financial deliverables;
• Lead the implementation of specific activities with partner organizations, subcontractors, short- term and long- term consultants in selected sectors;
• Coordinate technical workshops, trade fairs, and other relevant activities to facilitate business development and firms’ improved access to markets;
• Liaise with the private and the public sector to promote economic growth and inclusion of marginalized groups into value chains;
• Promote the Activity among prospective participants and coordinate their selection;
• Design action plans for assistance initiatives with participating MSMEs;
• Monitor progress towards goals and expected results.

Qualifications:
• An undergraduate degree from an accredited university in business or public administration, marketing, finance or economics is required. A Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
• At least eight (8) years of relevant experience in business and economic development internationally-funded activities, preferably in the Latin America and Caribbean region.
• Ability to analyze the barriers to competition and inclusion, and the challenges and opportunities of broad based economic growth in Honduras.
• Experience relevant to accomplishment of the cross-cutting objectives including gender, youth and vulnerable populations.
• Relevant experience must be in managing sectors and/or sub-sectors of value chain development interventions in respective sectoral fields.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and experience in managing teams.
• Fluent Spanish and English
