Information Systems Technician

Tetra Tech ARD, headquartered in Burlington, Vermont is accepting applications for an Information Systems Technician (IST). The IST is a member of the Technology and Information Management Services (TIMS) Unit and reports to the Director of TIMS. This technician is responsible for in-person and remote end-user support, troubleshooting, and systems monitoring. The role requires creativity, strong intercultural and communication skills, and solid problem solving skills to deliver the high level of service required by our users.



This position is based in Burlington, Vermont.



Responsibilities:

Provide daily user support to headquarters and overseas staff and IT-equipment management, including connectivity, groups and passwords, installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, configuring systems and applications, setting up laptops for new users, providing copier/printer and audio-visual support;

Serve as primary contact for internal customers to the TIMS team, handling requests as appropriate and passing to others as necessary;

rovide thorough technical troubleshooting;

Ensure proper help desk ticket management and resolution using accepted standards and procedures;

Collaborate across departments to develop and fulfill training requirements for headquarters and field staff;

As opportunities arise, train and orient colleagues/staff in current and new technologies to prepare them for applications that meet program objectives; and

Other tasks as deemed appropriate and necessary by the Director.

        

Qualifications:

Minimum of either a Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or related field (preferred), or Associate’s degree and additional work experience;

Minimum of two years of related technical or help desk experience;

Experience and ease in communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience;

Knowledge and experience with basic computer hardware and desktop and server operating systems;

Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail;

Strong customer-service orientation;

Self-motivated, with the ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a time-sensitive manner;

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;

Knowledge of advanced SharePoint and Office 365 features is preferred but not required;

Willing and able to travel for short stints;

Demonstrated versatility, reliability, and follow-through;

* Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills;

Motivated and self-directed, and with the ability to effectively prioritize and complete concurrent tasks with professionalism and minimal guidance; and

U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
