The USAID-funded Clean Cities Blue Ocean project in the USA, implemented by Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest for a Training Curriculum Development Advisor. This position will be located in Manila, Philippines. The assignment will be completed between July 2022 to March 2023 .
The CCBO activity is a five-year initiative of USAID which will serve as USAID's flagship program to target ocean plastics directly at their source in cities and towns. The project works to prevent ocean plastic pollution by building capacity and commitment for Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling (3Rs) and solid waste management (SWM) in urban and peri-urban settings, particularly in riverine and coastal areas. CCBO works with multiple USAID missions on country-specific implementation of national and local activities, and with USAID/Washington on global-level activities.
Responsibilities:
*Conduct inception meeting to the CCBO Philippines Team for the presentation and discussion of the training curriculum development strategy and standards, confirmation of the identified training curriculum to be completed and developed, and agree on the implementation timeline and other arrangements
*Gather and review available SWM/3R training/workshop modules and or presentation materials as inputs in the completion and development of training curriculum
*Conduct consultation meetings with the Asia Regional Director/Country Director, concerned technical specialists and managers of CCBO Philippines to elicit discussions, review and feedback, and technical advice to enhance the training/course contents
*Develop procedures for trainers to implement curriculum
*Coordinate with the CCBO Director of Program Coordination and Communications to ensure draft curricula meets branding and marking requirements ahead of initiating development
*Prepare, write, and package draft training curricula and presentation materials for the various SWM/3R trainings to be conducted, for review of the CCBO Team
*Integrate review comments and observations of CCBO and finalize the training curricula, presentation materials, and other tools and resources needed.
*Prepare and submit a terminal report with the final versions of the training curricula and presentation materials
Qualifications
*Master’s degree required in relevant field such as social science, management, education, international development, organization development, human resources, and relevant fields
*At least 10 years’ experience in developing training curriculum/syllabus and other related documents such as knowledge products
*Solid working experience with governments both in municipal and national levels
*Exposure in municipal solid waste management, ocean plastics, materials management, recycling services will be a plus
*Relevant and or similar engagement with international organizations such as USAID will be a plus
*Proven track record in facilitating any or a combination of the following activities such as trainings, workshops including preparation of training materials
*Ability to travel, as is possible given any COVID-19 movement restrictions in place during the period of the consultancy
*Advanced proficiency in speaking and writing in English
