Associate, Disaster Risk Finance and Climate Resilience

Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for Associate, Disaster Risk Finance and Climate Resilience for the Agriculture and Economic Growth Sector.

 

The Associate, Disaster Risk Finance and Climate Resilience will join a dynamic growing practice providing technical and project management leadership. This will include management of existing client contracts, as well as developing proposals for new projects from existing clients and diversifying with new clients. The Associate is a member of the operations staff, working in a sector; in this capacity, the Associate will be assigned duties by the Sector Director, or designee, in the areas of project management, business development, and provision of technical assistance through billable work either at the client site or from the home office. Associates are assigned to proposal and project teams in various roles such as Proposal Manager, Lead Technical Writer, Project Manager, and Deputy Project Manager among others.

 

This position will be based in Burlington, Vermont or Arlington, Virginia. However, other US locations may be considered.

 

Responsibilities:

*Provide technical support and leadership to disaster risk finance and climate resilience projects

*Lead and support new business development for disaster risk finance and climate resilience projects

*Provide internal and external technical leadership to improve Tetra Tech’s overall capacities in relevant areas

*Manage relevant projects including technical, financial, administrative project management.

 

Qualifications: 

* Master's degree in climate, disaster management, or similar area

* At least 7-10 years of working experience in international development and climate risk management

* Demonstrated knowledge of disaster risk finance, climate resilience, and related areas

* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural, and cross-sectoral team situations

* Demonstrated experience working successfully with local governments and donor programs

* Availability for 20% international travel when appropriate and safe to do so

* Speaking and reading proficiency in at least one foreign language is preferred.  

* Ability to legally work in the US without employer sponsorship.
