Director of Administration and Finance – Zambia Business Enabling Project

Tetra Tech International Development Services is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Director of Administration and Finance (DAF) position on an anticipated U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded project in Zambia. 

 

Project Summary: The USAID/Zambia Business Enabling Project (BEP) will catalyze greater private sector investment and trade in rural areas by strengthening select Zambian government and civil society organizations to implement improved and streamlined policies and processes for economically viable rural enterprises, and by creating an enabling environment that incentives productive investments in trade, agricultural, energy, eco-tourism, and sustainable natural resource management.

 

Position Description: Working under the direction of the Chief of Party (COP), the Director of Administration and Finance will be responsible for the project’s financial management, HR, procurement, and administration. This is anticipated to be a full-time position based in Lusaka.

 

Responsibilities:

* Lead the project’s financial management, HR, procurement, and administration processes;

* Supervise and build the capacity of finance managers/other relative staff

* Ensure compliance with USAID, local laws, and Tetra Tech rules and regulations.

 

Qualifications:

*Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, finance, accounting, or another relevant field;

*Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in financial management and administration, grants experience preferred;

*Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a supervisory role related to accounting, payroll, procurement, subcontracts, and/or logistical support services;

*Prior experience managing at least two direct reports;

*Demonstrated experience providing contractual and financial oversight to USAID or other donor-funded projects;

*Excellent organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment; 

*Detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks and support program implementation while ensuring adherence to required policies and protocols;

*Accounting/audit certifications highly preferred;

*Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software required;

*Professional proficiency in English is required;
