Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion (GYSI) Specialist

Tetra Tech International Development Services (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion Specialist position on an anticipated USAID-funded investment and agriculture export program in Rwanda.

 

The Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion (GYSI) Specialist will be responsible for leading and monitoring the integration of gender, youth, and vulnerable populations concerns into Rwanda FIRST programming. The GYSI Specialist will provide analytical and programmatic guidance to the project team and project partners and stakeholders to promote gender equity, youth engagement and social inclusion, and assume a lead role in articulating and advocating for the strategic importance of these issues and promoting these concepts within Rwanda. The GYSI Specialist will provide technical assistance and support in areas such as designing and conducting gender and youth analyses and assessments, and developing toolkits, resource guides, and other technical and training resources. They will also develop and deepen innovative approaches to GYSI integration, equality, and support data collection and analysis, reporting, knowledge sharing and learning related to GYSI issues.

 

We are looking for visionary leaders, strong managers and creative thinkers who work well with partners, and who have a passion for and a commitment to finding local solutions to investment and export promotion challenges. The GYSI Specialist is expected to be a full-time position, based in Kigali, for a period of up to five years. Rwandan candidates, especially women, youth and people with disabilities, are encouraged to apply.

 

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree (four-year university degree) required in a relevant technical area; Masters’ degree preferred (a Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience will be considered).

* Must possess a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in gender, social inclusion or youth engagement in Rwanda

* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders and partners to share best practices and lessons learned in GYSI approaches, and to move the GYSI agenda forward.

* A solid understanding of women’s empowerment, youth engagement and social inclusion theory, analysis, training materials, tools and data collection standards and protocols.

* Fluent proficiency in English speaking, reading and writing required
