Deputy Chief of Party - Alternatives to Charcoal

 

Tetra Tech International Development Services headquartered in Arlington, VA, is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) position on an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded environment and natural resources project in Zambia.

 

The purpose of USAID Alternatives to Charcoal Activity is to reduce charcoal energy consumption in Zambia, and catalyze an increase in the use of private sector-led low emissions charcoal alternative technologies and/or fuels in order to reduce deforestation directly attributed to charcoal production.

 

Working under the overall direction of the Chief of Party (COP) and in coordination and collaboration with project technical and operations staff, the DCOP will have the primary responsibility of ensuring the timely provision and delivery of all required project technical deliverables to support the implementation of the project.

 

Qualifications:

* At least 7 years of professional experience managing large-scale complex donor-funded development projects related to relevant activity themes such as renewable energy & alternative fuels, private sector engagement, sustainable landscapes, and community development (preferably both urban and rural);

* At least 3-5 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience;

* Experience with USAID contracts of similar size and scope is strongly preferred

* Strong existing relationships with public and private sector networks,

* Strong understanding of the local Zambian context required.
