Tetra Tech International Development Services, headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Deputy Chief of Party (COP) position on an anticipated USAID funded program in Kosovo. The goal of this Activity is to facilitate Kosovo’s firms towards becoming more competitive in local, regional, and international markets, thereby promoting export-led growth.
The anticipated objectives of this Activity are:
1. To increase exports through improved SME sophistication and market knowledge and linkages
2. A skilled workforce that better meets private sector needs
3. To expand access to finance to facilitate firms growth and capacity
Tetra Tech anticipates using a market systems approach to improve private sector performance and competitiveness of key export sectors and promote greater integration with European and global markets thus generating private sector employment in Kosovo.
Position Description: The DCOP serves as the principal point of contact in Kosovo for procedural and substantive matters in the absence of the Chief of Party (COP). The DCOP must be able to demonstrate that s/he has the requisite experience to effectively backstop and reinforce the other long and short-term specialists; ensure that synergies among Activity elements and grantees are capitalized upon; ensure that the Activity focus remains on achieving results; and manage an effective monitoring and reporting system. Specifically, they may be responsible for leading activities focused on improving small and medium enterprise sophistication and competitiveness in local or export markets. This is anticipated to be a full-time position based in Pristina, Kosovo.
Qualifications:
*Experience leading international donor-supported programs of similar size and complexity, USAID experience a plus;
*Possess 5 years’ experience leading development projects in a development context similar to Kosovo’s;
*Must be a subject matter expert in small and medium enterprise development;
*Practical experience in value chain development, international trade linkages, international marketing, and managing relevant projects;
*Must possess an advanced degree in business, marketing, trade development, or a related field;
*Professional proficiency in Albanian and English is required;
*Prior experience living and working in Kosovo or any other countries in the Balkans (preferred);
