Chief of Party – Economic Courts Support

Tetra Tech International Development Services headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Chief of Party - COP position on a USAID-funded program in the Arabic Republic of Egypt.

 

The purpose of this activity is to increase the effectiveness of Egypt's economic courts system in order to promote investment and economic growth in Egypt. The activity will improve commercial dispute resolution and enforcement and increase business’ and public confidence to invest in Egypt. This is a long-term position and the program will be based in Cairo.

 

Responsibilities:

* The COP’s primary responsibilities are aimed at providing overall leadership, management, and general technical direction of the entire program, ensuring an integrated vision among different components and actors, with a focus on achieving the results defined in the award.

* This individual is required to identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner, and suggest appropriate program adjustments.

 

Qualifications:

* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and a minimum of 6-8 years of experience with related donor-funded programs, preferably including previous experience in the region.

* Demonstrated experience in serving as a project representative to external audiences as well as effectively working with GOE government officials, donor representatives, civil society, and others.

* A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in projects involving work with the judicial system, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms related to the commercial/economic sector, and/or enforcement of judgments;

* A demonstrated track record of progressively responsible managerial experience implementing complex donor-funded projects of a comparable size with multiple activities and multiple implementation partners.

* Fluent in English; Arabic or Egyptian Arabic skills preferred.

* Egyptian nationals strongly encouraged to apply.

* Experience managing US-government funded programs in Africa and/or Asia is preferred.
