Tetra Tech International Development Services is recruiting for a Regional Trade and Integration Expert in our Bangkok, Thailand office. This position is contingent upon an awarded contract.
Responsibilities include:
· Coordinate with other project implementers and stakeholders, including other U.S. government agencies and donors
· Identify and develop a pipeline of priority projects
· Transaction advisory services and capacity building
· Link project developers and investors with national and regional financing networks
· Help promote cross-border electricity and gas trade which offers substantial economic benefits and can unlock billions of dollars in the regional energy market that goes beyond promoting optimal use of disparate energy resources
· Support regional frameworks and guidelines for enabling power and gas trade and the development of power markets, including regional power exchanges in South, Southeast Asia and Central Asia
· Continue building on and leveraging existing bilateral initiatives, including bilateral electricity market expansion, that strengthen and prepare individual countries for regional coordination and integration
· Work to expand the regional market for natural gas imports
· Promote regional energy cooperation will enhance regional stability and prosperity
· Provide technical leadership and supervision of staff and consultants
· Provide quality control support and ensure timely delivery of outputs
· Prepare work plans, progress reports, financial reports, logistics, and other documents
Qualifications
- Master's degree in energy-related engineering, policy, business, finance, economics, or a related field required. Preference will be given to candidates with degrees in Power System Planning
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the power sector
- Experience working in South East Asia and/or the South East Asian energy sector and understanding of key issues and stakeholders involved in energy project development
- Proven sales and delivery track record, ability to leverage existing industry contacts to secure new business opportunities
- Experience with international donors
- English fluency is required
