EDITORIAL / PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Tetra Tech ARD headquartered in Burlington, Vermont, is accepting expressions of interest for a full time, temporary Editorial/Production Assistant at our Home Office. Prior editing and/or production experience is required, as are strong MS Office skills and exceptional attention to detail. It is essential that candidates demonstrate outstanding communications skills and teamwork. Strong editing skills with the ability to handle a heavy workload are necessary for the successful candidate. The Editorial/Production Assistant is a junior member of the Production team and works under the general supervision of the Editor-In-Chief.

 

Responsibilities: 

*  Collaborate with technical staff on the production of USAID and other donor reports, proposals, case studies, or other products from inception to distribution;

*  Provide editing, formatting, and general document production following an existing set of preferences, styles, and design templates;

*  Collaborate with technical writers to ensure that content is accurate and grammatically correct; and

*  Perform other tasks as deemed appropriate and necessary.

 

Qualifications:

*  A Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field;

*  Minimum of three (3) years of professional editorial experience, preferably in a communications or publishing environment;

*  Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills and strong verbal communication skills are critical;

*  Proven experience coordinating editing, revisions, and layout activities; determination of priorities; and management for tight deadlines of multiple tasks with a good sense of humor;

*  Strong organizational experience that demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;

*  Full proficiency in MS Office for design and publications production; experience with Corel Draw, Excel, and MS Project are a plus;

*  Fluency in written and spoken English required; and

U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
