Change Management Coach

Project Background and Objective:

 The objective of the “Workplace Advancement for Gender Equality” (WAGE) project is to continue adapting and scaling up USAID’s efforts to increase gender equality and women’s economic empowerment opportunities within traditionally male-dominated sectors. This Task Order will expand and scale USAID’s programming focused on increasing gender equality and women’s empowerment in traditionally male dominated sectors, by 1) continuing to support the energy sector, and 2) adapting and applying the model to new sectors, particularly those that advance sustainable urban service delivery and economic growth of urban centers.

 

Position summary & job purpose:

 The Change Management Coach will play a critical role in coaching senior managers within utility companies from developing countries to implement gender equitable policies and practices across the employee life cycle within their utilities.

 

Position responsibilities:

· Provide technical expertise, support and guidance to the utility partners on the implementation of gender equitable policies and practices.

· Assist the utility partners in collecting and analyzing data to monitor and evaluate effectiveness of the interventions, as well as track outcomes on the business case, gender equity, and women’s empowerment.

· Combine virtual and in-person support to partner utilities to support the implementation of gender equity best practices and approaches taught in training and leadership courses.

· Provide support with the selection and development of a capstone project.

· Provide guidance for the design and implementation of gender equitable interventions.

· Provide capacity building including developing comprehensive course materials and learning objectives.

· Design and deliver course modules, conduct trainings onsite with company partners, contribute technical content to program documents, and provide one-on-one coaching with course participants, as appropriate.

· Serve as lead on developing communities of practice and alumni networks.

Essential KSA’s required (experience, skills, education, certification, etc.):

· Minimum of three (3) years of experience working as a change management coach in the private sector to improve human resource (HR) practices and corporate culture change specific to gender equity.

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills and experience building partnerships.

· Experience working in HR, organizational change management, and/or working with private sector companies to improve core business practices strongly preferred.

· Minimum of a master’s degree in in organizational management, human resources, business, economic growth, gender, development, energy, environment, international development, social sciences or related field.

 

Valued but not required KSA’s:

· Experience working on gender equity within change management/ executive leadership work, working with the power sector, and/or in developing country contexts strongly preferred

· Experience working on similar USAID programs is strongly preferred

· Experience working on gender issues in HR and/or operations is strongly preferred.

· Experience working with the power and water sector is strongly preferred.
