Tetra Tech International Development Services, headquartered in Arlington, VA is a holder of the Famine Early Warning Systems (FEWS NET) 7 IDIQ contract.  Tetra Tech is now accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates to join the Washington DC-based FEWS NET Pillar One – Emergency Food Security Analysis Team, to facilitate rapid start-up should USAID award this Task Order to Tetra Tech.  

FEWS NET is a leading provider of food insecurity monitoring and early warning services that enable the US Government and its partners, including governments and national, regional, and international government and non-governmental organizations, to prepare for and respond to food security crises anywhere in the world. FEWS NET is headquartered in Washington DC and has 26 country and regional offices in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The objectives of activities implemented under Pillar One are to: (1) build the evidence base for food security analysis; (2) carry out emergency food security analysis and decision-support; and (3) strengthen networks and local systems to improve their capacity to contribute to and utilize FEWS NET analyses and reporting. 

The Deputy Project Manager is one of two Burlington VT or Arlington VA based Deputy Project Manager positions that sits within the Home Office Support Team and works closely with the Project Manager to manage multiple administrative and operational aspects of program delivery. DPM I will align with country and regional offices in West and Southern Africa and with the Haiti country office, and DPM II will align with country and regional offices in Latin America, East Africa, and the Rest of the World.

Responsibilities:          
* Participate in client communications regarding contract management and requests for approval.
* Provide umbrella support to the team in the Washington, DC, HQ office for budget management, including project estimates at completion, regular and ad hoc budget reporting to USAID, subcontractor invoicing, recruitment, consultant hiring, and liaising with human resources. 
* Report to the Project Manager. 

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

* Bachelor’s degree in management, agriculture, economics, anthropology, statistics, or related field.
* At least two years of project management experience in international development experience required; experience at Tetra Tech preferred.
* Solid understanding of USAID rules and regulations.
* Experience living and working in countries monitored by FEWS NET preferred.
* Fluency in English required; French required for DPM One and Spanish for DPM Two.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
* Willingness and ability to travel to relevant countries.
* Strong communications, organizational, and financial management skills. 
* U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is an absolute requirement.
