Tetra Tech International Development Services, headquartered in Arlington, VA, is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for Deputy Chief of Party, Operations position on an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded environment and natural resources project in Zambia.
The purpose of the project is to reduce deforestation and forest degradation attributed to charcoal production and consumption in selected province(s) in Zambia.
Tetra Tech will support the Zambian government to fulfill its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet REDD+ goals by promoting alternatives to charcoal as fuel and energy sources and will contribute to biodiversity conservation and sustainable forest management in Zambia.
Working under the overall direction of the Chief of Party (COP) the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) Operations will be responsible for overseeing the project’s financial management, human resources department, procurement, and administrative operations. The DCOP will closely coordinate and collaborate with project administrative, financial and contracts staff, and will manage relationships with program stakeholders, including governmental institutions, and both local and international organizations.
Qualifications:
* 7+ years of personnel management experience, as well as experience managing large-scale complex projects
* Experience with USAID contracts of similar size and scope is strongly preferred
* Strong existing relationships with public and private sector networks,
* Strong understanding of the local Zambian context.
