Tetra Tech International Development Services headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Deputy Chief of Party position on a USAID-funded program in Egypt.
The overall scope for this program will support, Nosf Misr (Half of Egypt), responds to the U.S. Government and the Government of Egypt’s (GOE) shared policy priorities on gender equality and female empowerment, as well as USAID/Egypt’s desire to increase inclusive economic governance; combat gender-based violence; trafficking in persons; and, improve the public participation of females. This will include support for the Government of Egypt’s effort to combat the sexual exploitation of girls in the form of early child and seasonal marriages.
Nosf Misr seeks creative approaches to addressing the three objectives outlined below with the understanding that gender equality concerns women and men, and it involves working with men and boys as well as women and girls to bring about changes in attitudes, behaviors, roles and responsibilities at home, in the workplace, and in the community.
Objective One: Strengthen Legal, Economic and Social Enabling Environments
Objective Two: Increase Economic Opportunity at the Individual, Household and Community Level
*Sub-Objective 2.1: Increase participation by women in the Egyptian (private sector) labor force
*Sub-Objective 2.2: Increase Economic Opportunity for Women Entrepreneurs
Objective Three: Strengthen Referral Mechanisms and Service Provision Platforms
Working under the direction of the Chief of Party and in close collaboration with project administrative, financial, and technical staff, the Deputy Chief of Party will be directly responsible for the timely provision and delivery of quality technical deliverables to support project implementation.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in business management, economics, international development, or other relevant discipline; advanced degree preferred;
*Experience working in several of the technical areas listed above.
* At least 10 years of experience implementing development activities;
* At least 5 years of experience leading technical teams and activities for donor-funded projects;
* Proven ability to maintain productive working relationships with government officials, private sector actors, and other stakeholders;
* Ability to serve as acting Chief of Party in his/her absence;
* Fluency in English required.
