Tetra Tech International Development Services is recruiting for an Energy Utilities Expert in our Bangkok, Thailand office. The qualified candidate will work to reform/restructure energy utility facilities and improve their operational performance to make them self-sufficient, and sustainable. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities include:
· Coordinate with other project implementers and stakeholders, including other U.S. government agencies and donors
· Identify and develop a pipeline of priority projects
· Providing transaction advisory services and capacity building
· Link project developers and investors with national and regional financing networks
· Identify and support development of small and large-scale grid-connected projects, distributed generation projects, and businesses
· Develop energy projects through on-site auditing, engineering analysis, and understanding of energy/mechanical systems through communication and fact-finding
· Assist with efforts to increase the efficiency of power generation facilities, modernize and expand gas/power transmission networks, enhance cyber security measures, reduce utility losses, and guide cost-effective tariff reform
· Provide expertise and guidance on helping the region’s electric and gas utilities become financially viable and efficient
· Provide technical leadership and supervision of staff and consultants
· Provide quality control support and ensure timely delivery of outputs
· Prepare work plans, progress reports, financial reports, logistics, and other documents
Qualifications
- Master's degree in energy-related engineering, policy, business, finance, economics, or a related field required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the power sector
- Experience working in South East Asia and/or the South East Asian energy sector and understanding of key issues and stakeholders involved in energy project development
- Experience with international donors
- English fluency is required
