Business Enabling Environment Advisor - Transforming Market Systems
Tetra Tech ARD is seeking a qualified Business Enabling Environment Advisor to provide technical leadership to the anticipated USAID-funded Activity called Transforming Market Systems. This activity in Honduras is designed to foster competitive, resilient, and inclusive market systems that provide increased economic opportunities that incorporate poor, marginalized Hondurans and reduce incentives to migrate.
Roles and Responsibilities
:
• The BEE Coordinator will work to improve the Honduran business environment as a means to strengthen market systems affecting target value chains. The BEE Coordinator, amongst other responsibilities defined by the contractor, will:
• Develop and implement plans and strategies to support government entities at both the national and sub/national levels, and the private sector, including financial institutions, civil society, and the academic sector to foster a competitive, inclusive, and productive environment, thus stimulating growth and prosperity;
• Participate in the development of work plans and other technical deliverables;
• Participate in the development of terms of reference for subcontractors and long-term and, short-term consultants;
• Manage, provide follow-up and monitor specific sub-contracts;
• Monitor progress towards goals and expected results.
Qualifications:
• An undergraduate degree from an accredited university in business or public administration, marketing, social enterprise, finance, social sciences, or economics, or other relevant field is required. A Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
• At least eight (8) years of relevant experience in international business and project management in a private business and/ or a government institution in economic development are preferred.
• Ability to analyze the challenges that prevent a healthy business enabling environment in Honduras and to propose strategies to address these challenges.
• Experience working with public and private sector to foster a business enabling environment that promotes exports, linkages to new markets and investment mobilization.
• Experience relevant to accomplishment of the cross-cutting objectives including gender, youth and vulnerable populations.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and experience in managing teams.
• Fluent Spanish and English
