Tetra Tech, is seeking a qualified Chief of Party to lead all technical and administrative components of an anticipated $50-100 million USAID-funded transboundary waters project in Southern Africa. The purpose of this five-year project is to improve transboundary management and decision making for water, biodiversity and associated natural resources in the Okavango and Limpopo river basins. Working at river basin, catchment, bilateral and multilateral levels, the Resilient Waters Project will build the resilience of communities and ecosystems to adapt to a changing environment and climate.
Qualifications:
*University post-graduate degree (masters/doctorate) in natural or administrative science, environmental management or a related field
* At least 12 years of experience leading development projects.
*Technical expertise in water and natural resource management, biodiversity, climate change adaptation, public-private partnerships and/or community resilience.
*A demonstrated track record of progressively responsible managerial experience implementing donor projects with similar complexity; USAID contract management highly preferred.
*Previous experience in developing collaborative working relationships with host-country governments, civil society, regional stakeholders and other contractors.
*Experience monitoring, evaluating and documenting progress toward project objectives, evaluating sub-contractor and grantee activities, and developing solutions to keep activities on track.
*Experience working in Southern Africa.
*Fluent in English
