Tetra Tech ARD (www.tetratech.com/intdev) is accepting applications for a well-qualified International New Business Intern for our Business Development Unit (BDU). The Intern will learn more about and new business development and staffing to support program implementation, primarily for USAID-funded projects. This internship can help start a successful career in development, building skillsets, expanding networks, and providing real-world experience in this challenging but rewarding work.

This position will be based in Tetra Tech ARD's home office in Burlington, Vermont.

This internship is paid and hours are flexible, between 24-40 per week: duration is at least three months. Application deadline is April 27, 2016, and the Internship will start Monday, June 6, 2016.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct federal government spending research to better understand, industry trends, and competitor strengths and weaknesses in collaboration with the Director of the BDU;

* Support the Director of International Consultant Services (ICS) and technical sectors to identify technical skill areas necessary to position ourselves for business-critical initiatives;

* Leverage social media and develop strategies to expand our talent pools for opportunities worldwide;

* Conduct talent market research to identify top practitioners;

* Employ networking strategies to create personal connections between high-caliber consultant talent and Tetra Tech;

* Meet with staff to regularly report progress, discuss challenges, and set priorities; and

* Support proposal development and project implementation recruitment tasks when needed.

Qualifications:

* Recently completed or in progress Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in international development, international relations, public relations, marketing, or a related field required;

* Demonstrated understanding of, academic excellence in, and desire to pursue a career in international relations, international development, public relations, marketing, or a related field strongly preferred;

* Clear and effective communications and synthesis skills, especially across technologies, cultures, and hierarchies;

* Outstanding social media and information management skills and strategies, especially in professional applications;

* Consistently strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow through required;

* Knowledge of international donor development projects, especially USAID-funded projects desired;

* Proficiency in French or Spanish preferred;

* Applied experience in MS Office Suite;

* Strong interpersonal skills, energy, and an enthusiastic collaborator; and

* Ability to remain poised and focused in a fast-paced environment.
