GLS- Engineering and Design Manager - USAID, Uganda
Tetra Tech GLS, headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts (http:www.tetratechintdev.com/)is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Engineering and Design Manager position on a USAID funded program in Uganda. This is an anticipated project to assist in developing new business in Uganda. The anticipated duration of this project is two years.
Responsibilities:
The Engineering and Design Manager will work closely with the Lead Engineer/Chief of Party(COP), USAID, design staff, and subcontractors to ensure that projects arecompleted on time, to budget, and with appropriate technical rigor on the USAID/Uganda Mission contract. Travel among northern Ugandan cities may be required.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering with significant experience in the management of multiple infrastructure design packages for projects including health centers, buildings, roads, bridges, and other relevant infrastructure
* Must have experience in managing the design processand be in charge of multi-discipline designers
* Experience as a lead designer is required
* Must have excellent English language skills (both written and verbal).
* Must have strong leadership experience in human resources management and the ability to work in cross-cultural settings.
* Qualified Ugandan nationals are encouraged to apply
