INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT SUPPORT INTERNSHIP

Tetra Tech ARD, based in Burlington, Vermont is accepting applications for an International Development Project Support Intern to support project implementation and business development efforts in our DC-area office. The Intern will support provide assistance on project reports, document and file controls, coordination with internal Tetra Tech groups, the Tetra Tech International Development Services Communications team, and coordination with other Tetra Tech units in the US and abroad. As is true for all members of Tetra Tech ARD administrative staff, the individual in this role is expected to display exemplary interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, have a dedication to sustainable international development, and have a willingness to assist other team members when required. 

This paid summer position is 30-40 hours per week, and based in Arlington, Virginia.

 

Responsibilities

* Research and compile reference materials for Engineering and Construction Contracting Training Research Library: conduct inventory and organize existing documents, conduct web-based and in-person research to compile further resources;
* Coordinate with home office, field office, and subcontractor staff to support preparation and implementation of official delegations visiting Washington DC;
* Edit/support preparation of project-related success stories and other communications and reports;
* Support ongoing projects overseas including assistance on project reports, document and file controls, coordination with internal Tetra Tech groups (finance, contracts, human resources, engineering and technical), and coordination with other Tetra Tech units in the US and abroad;
* Support Tetra Tech International Development Services Communications team, including drafting/editing publications and marketing materials, drafting social media posts, attending and representing Tetra Tech at relevant events within the international development community; and
* Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, helping coordinate materials for external and internal events, career fairs; attending meetings and webinars and report back; providing general project support as needed.
Qualifications
* Pursuing or recently completed BA or MA in international development, international relations, engineering, environment, or a related field;
* Must have previous work and/or internship experience and experience conducting web-based research;
* Previous experience with federal government or government contracting a plus;
* Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
* Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills;
* Excellent writing skills;
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with consistent follow-through;
* Strong ability to take initiative and work both independently and as part of a team;
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point), experience with SharePoint and building web platforms, as well as social media experience a plus; and
* U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
