Tetra Tech ARD, headquartered in Burlington, Vermont is accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for the anticipated USAID-funded West Africa Sanitation Service Delivery Program. The objectives of this project are to leverage a market-based approach to improving sanitation service delivery throughout West Africa in an effort to fill sector gaps inhibiting improvement at scale. Activities will focus on providing urban sanitation through CLTS and sanitation marketing while improving overall sanitation services, including fecal sludge management, removal and reuse. This critical public health work will work in concert with USAID WASH efforts across Western Africa, including Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire. Local and regional candidates are encouraged to apply for one of two Sr. Fecal Sludge Specialist positions.
Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and manage activities supporting sanitation supply chains and fecal sludge management;
* Collaborate on development of sanitation business models and sludge management plans;
* Provide expertise on safe disposal and reuse;
* Serve as coordinating manager for regional staff; and
* Other technical/administrative duties as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Qualifications:
* An advanced degree in Public Health or a related field is strongly preferred;
* At least ten (10) years of professional WASH experience in West Africa with prior experience in Ghana, Benin, and Cote d’Ivoire preferred;
* Expertise in sanitation marketing and sanitation supply chains;
* Expertise in fecal sludge management and removal;
* Expertise in sanitation waste reuse;
* Experience working with USAID projects strongly preferred;
* Excellent written and oral language skills in English and French are required; and
* Candidates from Benin, Ghana, and Cote d’Ivoire are strongly encouraged to apply.
