CHIEF OF PARTY

Tetra Tech ARD, a leading international development consulting firm based in Burlington, Vermont and Washington, D.C., is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified Chief of Party candidates for the anticipated USAID-funded Women in Transition Program.  This five-year, $313-million program will invest in professional development opportunities for Afghan women to help them assume leadership roles in mainstream social, political, and economic sectors. It will aim to increase women’s participation as leaders in business and government, strengthen women’s rights organizations, and enable women to apply advanced managerial and leadership skills in the public, private, and civil services sectors. 

 

Qualifications: 

*Master’s degree in education, gender/women’s studies, international relations, sociology, or economic development;

*At least 8 years of demonstrated, successful professional experience designing, managing implementing and monitoring and evaluating projects of a similar size and level of complexity, including at least 3 years of work experience with women’s programs in developing countries;

*Advanced academic education or training in leadership development, especially for women highly desirable;

*Strong writing and oral presentation skills;

*Excellent strategic planning, project design and management and technical leadership skills relevant to adult learning across sectors;

*Previous work experience in Islamic countries in general and Afghanistan in particular highly desirable;

*Previous experience with or for the US Government highly desirable;

*Fluency in English required; language skills in Dari and Pashtu desired;
