Tetra Tech GLS, headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts (http:www.tetratechintdev.com/) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for an Architect position on a proposed program in Afghanistan. The anticipated duration of this project is four (4) months.
The Architect will assist in reviewing designs for existing vertical structures and providing guidance, recommendations, and written plans/reports for local ministry.
Responsibilities:
* Review architectural designs and suggest modifications;
* Suggest alternative design options for sustainability and cost effectiveness, suitable to climatic conditions and locally available construction materials and resources;
* Ensure that construction drawings are prepared for architecture, electricity, and plumbing purposes;
* Collaborate with the MEP engineer(s) to review and update mechanical, electrical, and water supply facility design specifications, including all necessary calculations pertaining to installation of sanitary and plumbing pumping station, water and septic tanks, etc.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or similar field;
* Minimum twenty (20) plus years of experience in architecture and engineering;
* Must be willing to relocate to Afghanistan for four (4) months.
