Resettlement Specialist

Tetra Tech GLS, headquartered in Marlborough,  Massachusetts (http:www.tetratechintdev.com/) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Resettlement Specialist position. The candidate will provide consultancy services for the preparation of a feasibility study, environmental and social impact assessment, and resettlement policy framework for the expansion of bulk water supply in Mongolia. The anticipated duration of this project is approximately twelve (12) months, depending on actual mobilization date.

 

Responsibilities:

* Complete screening and scoping activities to compile a Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) in compliance with environmental guidelines and IFC Performance Standard 5;

* Combine the general resettlement strategy and policy guidance with the site-specific resettlement conditions;

* Consider stakeholder feedback gathered from a consultative process in the affected areas.

 

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in rural sociology, anthropology, or similar discipline;

* Master’s degree preferred;

* Must have significant experience in social survey work, including field experience with involuntary resettlement operations;

* Must have strong expertise in designing, managing, or assessing involuntary resettlement and rehabilitation and direct project experience in applying IFC Performance Standards 5 and 7;

* Previous Mongolia or other regional experience would be beneficial.
