Engineering Manager/Team Leader

Tetra Tech GLS, headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts (http:www.tetratechintdev.com/) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified Engineering Manager/Field Team Leader candidates to lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers working on-site at the Aegis Ashore Naval Support Facility in Redzikowo, Poland.  The position is based at the US Naval Facility in Poland. This position supports the AECOM + Tetra Tech Joint Venture under a prime contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Europe District.  The ongoing construction value exceeds US$200 million.

 

The selected candidate will experience a unique opportunity to be the day to day contact with our USACE Client and their US Missile Defense Agency and US Navy customers. You will be supervising a field team of electrical, mechanical, structural engineers and project controls professional.  This team is responsible for directly supporting the USACE Resident Engineers office by reviewing construction contractor submittals and requests for information at the construction site.  This is a dynamic work environment where thinking outside of the box is the norm.  This is an initial six month field assignment with the possibility for an extension dependent on the US Government.

 

Responsibilities:

* Daily communication with our government client to ensure a high level of satisfaction with our providing of Architectural & Engineering services;

* Run to ground in a timely manner design and engineering issues for our client as requested with their two clients (MDA and Navy), and their two construction contractors;

* Manage a staff of professional engineers and construction professionals in a construction site location;

* Coordinate with the home office project manager and technical staff for reach-back support to augment the field team as needed;

* Provide administrative supervision to the field staff;

* Perform other duties as requested.

 

Qualifications:

* Minimum BS Degree in architecture or an engineering discipline;

* PE, RA or AIA registration highly desired;

* 10 plus years of recent experience on engineering and construction management projects preferably for US Department of Defense contracts;

* Experience on Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), US Army Corps of Engineers Europe District, and/or other US Federal Agency projects is preferred;

* Previous construction site experience is desired;

* Previous Military service is a plus;

* Excellent written and oral communications skills;

* Ability to meet deadlines and work in a field office with various client stakeholders.;

* Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment;

* Must possess excellent people skills and be able to work in a large team environment;

* Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, a DoD Secret Level Security Clearance;

* Ability to obtain a NATO Mission VISA to work in Poland.
