ADVISOR FOR CORRECTIONS UNIT (DAP)

Tetra Tech, a leader in consulting, engineering, environmental science and technical services worldwide has a challenging and immediate opportunity for a highly motivated professional in our growing Pro-telligent business unit.

PRO-telligent, A TetraTech Company, is seeking an experienced ADVISOR FOR CORRECTIONS UNIT (DAP) for a government client. The position will be based in Haiti.



The position function is to provide managerial, strategic and substantive direction and mentoring to the Prison Authority within the HNP.  The incumbent will help establish the Unit’s Mission Statement and Implementation Plan and will advise on the needs (material, training and skills) required under the implementation plan, including assisting in the establishment of SOPs for prison operations and reforms based on international best practices. He or she will also assist in the development of management oversight measures to monitor adherence to implementation plan and SOPs by all DAP members. Incumbent will advise on training needs and assist in identification of training programs that address the HNP’s needs to build capacity in Correctional Management.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Associates degree or higher is required. 
  2. A Corrections Academy Certificate (minimum of 120 hours of correctional training) is required.
  3. Previous experience in prison administration operations including resource management is desired.
  4. Minimum of two years supervisory experience in a correctional and/or Police department/agency is required.
  5. Knowledge of human rights standards in the treatment of prisoners is required.
  6. Minimum of 9 years of Law Enforcement Experience of which must have worked in a correctional field for a minimum of 5 years with no more than a 5 year separation in the correctional field.
  7. Required to have an equivalent FSI level 3/3 for English, Haitian Creole (speaking and comprehension capability), and French language. Individual candidate waivers will be provided, on a case by case basis, by the COR.
