Tetra Tech is seeking to hire a qualified Technical Specialists for an anticipated 5-year USAID/Peru funded project that will address water security in the context of climate change adaptation. The Activity’s goal is to secure water supply for urban populations, agriculture and other productive sectors vulnerable to climate change impacts to Andean hydrology. The project will scale up investments in green infrastructure in watersheds by promoting evidence-based decision making for water resources management, improving the enabling environment in terms of governance, planning, and financing green infrastructure, and supporting the design and implementation of green infrastructure model projects to be replicated in vulnerable watersheds.
We are looking for Technical Specialists in the following areas:
Water Resources Management Specialist – to support WRM and green infrastructure planning and project design at the national, regional, and local levels.
* 7+ years’ experience supporting the development and implementation of WRM and green infrastructure interventions in Peru.
* Minimum of a Master’s degree in relevant discipline required.
* Spanish and English proficiency required.
Water and Climate Monitoring Specialist – to oversee the generation and use of hydrological data for WRM decision-making and the design and implementation of green interventions.
* 7+ years’ experience in hydrological monitoring methodologies.
* Experience working with and building the capacity of government, university and civil society organizations in Peru.
* Minimum of a Master’s degree in relevant discipline required.
* Spanish and English proficiency required.
Conservation Finance Specialist – to facilitate access to public and private financing for implementing green infrastructure models in vulnerable watersheds.
* 7+ years’ experience working in conservation finance.
* Experience working with municipal governments and the private sector in Peru.
* Minimum of a Master’s degree in relevant discipline required.
* Spanish and English proficiency required.
Environmental Communications and Marketing Specialist –to increase public and political awareness on the importance of watershed conservation and green infrastructure to protect and restore hydrological ecosystem services and the need for investments to do so.
*7+ years’ experience in behavioral change communication and social or environmental marketing in Peru.
* Master’s degree in relevant discipline.
* Spanish and English proficiency required.
Environmental Economist – to strengthen the evidence base on the hydrological benefits of green interventions and cost-effectiveness compared to conventional gray infrastructure.
* 7+ years’ experience working in environmental economics.
* Experience measuring the impact of green intervention models.
* Minimum of a Master’s degree in relevant discipline required.
* Spanish and English proficiency required.
