Senior Technical Advisors and Specialists - Nigeria WATIH

Tetra Tech International Development Services headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently seeking applications from qualified Chief of Party (COP) candidates to provide leadership to a $86-96 million, USAID-funded Trade and Investment Hub Activity in West Africa. The purpose of the Activity is to improve the competitiveness of West African farmers and firms. This will be accomplished by increasing productivity, market participation, investment and adoption of improved technologies. USAID defines agriculture competitiveness as the ability of a farm, firm, sector, or country to sell and provide goods and services in a given market – in relation to the ability and performance of other farms, firms, sectors or countries in the same market.

 

Tetra Tech is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

* Marketing and Trade Specialist

* Agricultural Value Chain Development Specialist

* Agribusiness Specialist

* Agricultural Market Information Systems Specialist

* Post-harvest Handling and Processing Specialist

* Public-Private Partnership Specialist

* Access to Agricultural Finance Specialist

* Producer Organization/Agribusiness Capacity Building Specialist

* Agricultural Production Specialists

* Business Development Services (BDS) Specialist  

* Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist

* Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

 

Responsibilities:

* Management of project activities within respective technical areas. This will include planning and implementation of activities in collaboration with local partners, beneficiaries and project staff  

* Participation on internal grant review committees and grants management and monitoring.

* Support project monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities, and financial planning and budget development;

* Engage in discussions related to respective technical areas with stakeholders including USAID and local government officials.

* Liaise and coordinate project activities with those of other pertinent USAID implementing partners and donor activities.

 

Qualifications:

* At least five (5-8) years of professional experience in their specific field;

* Demonstrated expertise in agriculture, agribusiness and agricultural value chain development;

* Additional experience in one or more of the following technical areas are required: agricultural competitiveness, agricultural supply chain management, agricultural extension services provision, commodity warehousing and storage capacity development, ICT for agriculture, development of clean energy solutions for agricultural value chain development;

* Experience with a donor-funded project is required;

* Academic degree in a related field, an Advanced degree is preferred;

* Nigerian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
