Indonesia PMaP - Task 2 & 3 Coordinator

Tetra Tech is seeking to hire a qualified Task 2 and 3 Coordinator for an upcoming program in Indonesia. The Millennium Challenge Corporation (“MCC”) and the Government of Indonesia (the “Government”) have entered into a Millennium Challenge Compact for Millennium Challenge Account – Indonesia (MCA Indonesia) assistance to help facilitate poverty reduction through economic growth in the Republic of Indonesia. A portion of this funding has been allocated to assist MCA-Indonesia in implementing the Green Prosperity Project (GP Project). The program objectives of the GP Project will be achieved through the implementation of, among other things, investment in administrative boundary setting, updating and integration of land use inventories and enhancing spatial plans at the district and provincial levels (“Participatory Land Use Planning” (PLUP)). A sub-activity under PLUP is the Participatory Mapping and Planning (PMaP) Sub-Activity.

 

Responsibilities:

*Providing day-to-day strategic direction and technical and operational planning and supervision of the implementation of the acquisition of geo-spatial data and preparation of GIS databases of land use/land cover and the compilation and geo-referencing of existing and pending licenses and permits for land and natural resource use;

* Direct supervision of the work of all Task 2 and 3 technical staff;

* Directly responsible for the preparation of reports and presentations regarding the implementation of Tasks 2 and 3;

* Lead liaison with MCA-Indonesia and local government representatives regarding implementation of Tasks 2 and 3;

* Prepare data and materials related to the fieldwork for use in for technical reports and presentations; and

* Coordinate directly with the Team Leader in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of field work, office processing, and preparation of reports and presentations

 

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Natural Resources Management, Geography or related field;

* Minimum of seven years of experience in project planning and management especially in the management of natural resource mapping and GIS database development projects;

* Demonstrated skill in the management of technical teams and communication and interaction with local government officials and technicians;

* Demonstrated experience in the use of standard GIS, database management, photogrammetric, or image processing software;

* Demonstrated understanding of image ortho-rectification process and ability to implement ortho-rectification process on satellite and airborne imagery;

* Demonstrated skills in interpreting satellite imagery and / or aerial photos for map production;

* Previous work experience in Indonesia, as well as a strong knowledge of Indonesian geo-spatial data standards and issues;

* Fluency in English

*Desirable Qualifications: Fluency in Indonesia language.
