CHIEF OF PARTY, PROGRAM FOR AQUATIC NATURAL RESOURCES IMPROVEMENT- Kathmandu, Nepal

Tetra Tech ARD headquartered in Burlington, Vermont is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Chief of Party position on the USAID Nepal program: Program for Aquatic Natural Resources Improvement (PANI). PANI is a five-year activity that focuses on: 1) reducing threats to freshwater biodiversity in the Karnali, Mahakali, and Rapti river basins and 2) increasing the ability of targeted human and ecological communities to adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change through improved water management. The focus will be at the watershed, basin, and national scales.

 

Responsibilities:

*Lead all technical, financial and administrative aspects of the program; provide overall strategic and technical guidance;

*Coordinate closely with USAID in developing, implementing, and revising the project’s overall strategy;

*Serve as principal link between USAID/Nepal and Tetra Tech, as well as the Government of Nepal, other partners, stakeholders, and key regional organization

*Provide comprehensive expert technical oversight and guidance in all aspects of the program, including monitoring and evaluation, and reporting to USAID.

 

Qualifications:

*Technical area of proficiency: Biodiversity Conservation or Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation.

*10 years of relevant technical experience in: freshwater biodiversity conservation, hydrology, water resource management and/or climate change adaptation, preferably in similar development contexts as Nepal

*Experience in program design, policy dialogue, strategic planning and implementation, both at a national policy and grassroots levels is required. Ten years management experience on large donor-funded projects, preferably as Chief of Party on USAID-funded contracts.

*Professional experience in South Asia required; Nepal experience highly preferred;

*Professional experience in South Asia required; Nepal experience highly preferred;

*Fluency in English required; proficiency in Nepali is preferred.
