CAPACITY BUILDING SPECIALIST, HORTICULTURE TANZANIA

Tetra Tech ARD, located in Burlington, Vermont, is looking for qualified candidates to serve as Capacity Building Specialist for a USAID funded horticulture value chain program in Tanzania.  Key responsibilities and qualifications for the position include:



Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the central liaison and point of contact for local organizations and institutions, determining capacity strengthening needs, and providing direct capacity strengthening assistance when needed;
  • Perform assessments of the organizational systems and technical capacity of selected partners and institutions.
  • Design capacity building tools and approaches to address mutually identified training needs;
  • Oversee the provision of training and technical support to local organizations, partners, and institutions;
  • Monitor and measure progress made by capacity building efforts, tracking the ability of local organization to qualify for direct USG assistance.

 Qualifications:

  • Degree in adult education and training, education, HR management or other relevant field highly preferred;
  • Minimum eight (8) years of demonstrable experience providing mentorship and/or leadership to local organizations, partners, and/or institutions;
  • Previous experience in a capacity building position or similar role highly preferred;
  • Prior experience with USAID or other donor-funded programs;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and experience working in collaboration with partners, donors, and NGOs;
  • Team building and leadership skills;
  • Professional fluency in English required; plus fluency in Swahili and other regional dialects in Tanzania.
