VERIFICATION OFFICER– Uganda Legume Seed Sector

Tetra Tech ARD, headquartered in Burlington, Vermont, is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates to fill the position of Verification Officer. The pilot project will focus on legume seed sector development, and the position will be based in Kampala, Uganda with significant opportunities for in-country travel.

 

Responsibilities: The Verification Officer will be responsible for overseeing all verification activities that will be carried out by an external contractor. This will include biannual audits of companies’ reported seed sales as well as verification of unsold seeds.  The Verification Officer should be familiar with legume seed production and sales processes, and will need to liaise and oversee all verification tasks to ensure verification objectives are carried out with integrity. Verification work will be focused both on verifying results, and preventing and identifying fraudulent practices.

 

Successful candidates will have demonstrated success designing and implementing verification and quality control systems, monitoring and evaluating system implementation, overcoming challenges and solving problems, and coordinating with partners. Qualifications:

*A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. Relevant fields include, but are not limited to, Agricultural Development, Business Management, Accounting, Finance and Administration

*A minimum of 5 years’ experience with private sector projects or programs management

*Proven track record of achieving management goals and objectives, financial management, and oversight of contracts in similar context

*Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

*Spoken and written fluency in English
